Hello Again, Alcohol!

I wrote a while back about cutting cheese and beer out of my diet. Cheese and I have broken up (except on cheat days, obviously) and I’ve actually been happier without it in my regular diet. I was right about cheese being the culprit in making me sluggish.

Alcohol, however, doesn’t seem to make any difference, which makes a lot of sense considering how little I drink. Mostly, I’ve just found it to be a pain in the ass for social situations, and it hasn’t made any difference in my energy levels. I also miss it when I have lot of homework, because drinking a glass of wine and listening to Tony Bennett radio in my pajamas seems to be the most conducive thing I know to whipping out a long paper for school.

hello again, alcohol!

So, I’m getting back together with the alcohol, probably at the same levels as I did before cutting it out (less than 10 drinks per month. Told you I wasn’t a heavy drinker). I’m also specifying that I will only drink red wine or beer, because other drinks can have a lot of sugar in them.

This awesome finding suggests that beer might even be good for training.

Seeing that it makes pretty much no difference in my energy levels or ability to train, I’m feeling good about the decision. So…. Anyone want to take me out for a drink?
